Privacy Policy

The safeguarding of your data is of paramount importance to Hydro Group. We will never sell on, trade or monetise your details for any purpose, and we only retain the minimum information required for Hydro Group to interact with you.
This policy outlines what type of data we hold, why we collect your information, how it is processed and the conditions under which we may disclose it to other relevant organisations.
For the purposes of this notice, ‘We’ refers to Hydro Group and its component businesses and ‘You’ refers to the end user of any Hydro Group website, customer, business partner, supplier or prospect of the business.

What type of data will Hydro Group hold?
Some or all of the following:
• Title, full name, business address and business contact details including email address(es) and or phone number(s)
• Transactional data, including order/enquiry dates, order value, previous communications via electronic means

What is my data used for?
We process personal information for certain legitimate business purposes, which includes some or all of the following:
• To modify, improve and tailor our services and communications for you
• To process your enquiry and/or order from us
• To share marketing activity and digital communications with you, including special offers and deals
• To improve the security of our network and information systems
• To prevent fraud and cybercrime
• To better understand how you and other visitors interact with our website
• To determine the effectiveness of marketing activity
Please note any communications we share with you regarding orders for goods and services will remain unaffected by your marketing preferences.

Marketing Preferences
You don’t need to do anything to continue receiving periodic sales information and news from Hydro Group. You have the opportunity to opt-out of any marketing communications we send you each time we contact you.

If you’d like to opt-out permanently, you can do so via the ‘Unsubscribe’ link on our communications.
Your decision will not affect any communications we send you regarding any goods or services you have ordered from us.

Cookies 
The Hydro Group website uses cookies to collect information. This includes information about browsing behaviour, such as how you travel through our website, which pages you view and how long your browsing session lasts. We do not use cookies to collect or record information on your name, address or other contact details. Website users are able to deactivate cookies on the website if they wish to do so, which may adversely affect the performance of the site during their visit.

Relevant outside organisations
When you provide us with personal details relating to a product or service ordered from us (e.g. the sharing of a business card at an industry event, or through a data capture form on our website), we will collect this personal information for future marketing and/or order-related correspondence.

We may, on occasion, work with suppliers to help determine market trends and business opportunities, allowing us to provide the best experience for you.

Typical personal data we gather in this process includes name, profession, business address and contact details such as phone numbers and email addresses.

Email Marketing
We will use your preferred contact details to inform you about products and services we offer and to maintain the accuracy of our records. From time to time, we may also contact customers via email marketing software to canvass their opinions on our customer service. We never have, and never will, rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses. We use email software to deliver our newsletter. Through this, we record and analyse statistics such as email open rates and clicks to help us monitor and improve our communications with you.

Google Analytics
Hydro Group currently does not use Google analytics, however we do use AWSTATS via server control panel 'cPanel'. This information is collected for internal purposes to assess and improve website content, such as how many visitors visit the website and how they interact with it, and at what time etc. This information is anonymised and no attempt is made to identify individuals as a result of this data.

How is my data protected?
Your data is retained securely on our servers, with only the minimum amount of data stored as relevant for business purposes.
Data is regularly reviewed and maintained in proportion to the tasks it is utilised for. We make every effort to ensure that the data we share with relevant outside organisations is secure at the point of transfer and data processing.

Legitimate interest
In addition to future contact details obtained with consent, Hydro Group claims a legitimate interest to keep in touch, using their business addresses, with named individual business and corporate contacts with whom the organisation already had a relationship prior to the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation on 25 May 2018.
Articles 47 and 48 of the GDPR say that direct marketing activity is a legitimate interest in the context of a relevant and appropriate relationship between Hydro Group and the individual, with a reasonable expectation that electronic means of communication would be used for these purposes.

Access to your personal information and your rights under GDPR legislation
